Death to the Octopussies!

Holy Shit! Does this mean the Octopussies Are Going to Die?

And so we enter into the final phase of the "death to the octopussies" post-sub-production...

In times past, the octopussies would hang out all night and pass the laptop around to work on the so called edit. The results were rather random given the group method, either incoherence ala "travel convergence" or lucky coolness ala "Mr. Cool".

Here's the idea, we all have access to the footage. We take turns editing the movie. Editing novices and experts have equal weight in the edit decisions.

Heretofore, this process is pretty vague.

As it stands now, we have three hard drives with all the uncut footage from "death to the octopussies". One of those drives is en route to Dublin as we speak and I hope to hand off another drive to Sunny as soon as I can catch up with her!
I've cut the first scene. Ideally, Andrew and Sunny would get a turn before (or if) I even cut another scene. Even more ideally, everyone involved in the production would get a chance to do some editing. And hopefully, all of this would be done with before all of us get sidetracked into the next project. None of us are known to sit still.

so, the octopussies die here, long live the octopussies!

Some random notes on the first scene:
Tony Patlan, of Mr. Cool fame, drew the Mayan calendar images featured on the intertitles. The first set of titles give the calendar date of December 13, 2012. If you have a good eye you'll notice that the image on the very last title "Beware the Assassin Priest" is different. This title gives the calendar date of December 14, 2012.

Chlorophil contributed the first song "Rumble Creep".

The first scene was shot in the Marin Headlands and Muir Woods.

David Shuey wears a costume designed by Cindy Jensen. The staff he bears is from a tree in Chicago and a rock from the Black Hills. We set the staff on fire in "goth girl (Samhain)".

Slackbaba contributed the second song "Sea of Green". Chlorophil spun this song at the "Party at the End of Time".

Pearl Lamar and Camille Ristow represent for the octopussies in scene one.

The Flip Scoldjah contributed the third song "Energon Cube". He's also known to date my sister.

Literally seconds before David Shuey walked down the stairs and hugged the tree, some crazy streaker ran down the path. How fucking random! Too bad we didn't get that on camera.

The crystal I'm holding is a lemurian crystal. Some people (pas moi) believe that aliens wrote secret messages on these crystals.

"We are all related" and the reference to the elements are from Lakotan earth man philosophy.

Allan Lazo wields a Japanese sword courtesy of martial artist James Shepherd.

Kush Arora of Surya Dub contributed the last song of scene one "Surf’s Up feat Luke Argilla".

until next time
the octopussies are dead, long live the octopussies!
